Royal Navy HMS Defender crew seizes £3.3m haul of crystal meth from drug smugglers’ dhow in the Arabian Sea

HMS Defender can be seen in the background, while a separate vessel filled with Royal Marines is launched to search the vessel

  • HMS Defender was sweeping the area for smugglers when the vessel was seen
  • Located by the helicopter crew of the Portsmouth-based ship during dawn patrol
  • Royal Marines in sea boats were then sent to secure the dhow and its crew today
