NATO AWACS aircraft trains with Polish and US air forces

A NATO AWACS aircraft arrived in Krakow, Poland on Friday (21 August 2020) for a week-long training event with the Polish and US air forces. The long-planned activity involves exercising air command and control over Allied territory. Based at Geilenkirchen Air Base in Germany, NATO’s fleet of 14 AWACS aircraft conducts a wide range of operations – including flights in support of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, as well as Operation Sea Guardian.
