HMS “Tenacity” (P 276) -Tenacity class 44ft Vosper Fast Patrol Craft, 1972
An experimental private venture fast patrol boat built at Vosper Thornycroft’s Camber yard in Portsmouth 1967-69. She was not bought by the RN until January 1972, but was used for demonstrations and was twice chartered by the RN in 1971. Although designed for a heavy armament this was never fitted (the twin 35mm mounting and quad SSMs credited to her in Jane’s being dummies), and when taken in to the RN she was given only two light machine-guns for fishery protection duties. The main alteration was the fitting of two davits for handling inflatable dinghies on the forecastle, but in 1978 she received a 40mm Bofors gun on the forecastle.
MODERNIZATIONS

NAVAL SERVICE
She was reported to be for sale, but did not arrive at Southampton from Rosyth until 1985.
