JMSDF ships depart after successful naval exercise

The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ships which arrived in Sri Lanka on 23rd September 2020, departed from the island yesterday, on successful completion of a combined naval exercise carried out with the Sri Lanka Navy.

Accordingly, this naval exercise was conducted by the  two ships “JS Kaga” and “JS Ikazuchi” of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force with SLNS “Gajabhahu”, Fast Attack Craft and Inshore Patrol Craft of the Sri Lanka Navy, in western seas.

The exercise paved the way for exchanging knowledge and experiences of the two navies, while enhancing mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Further, Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ships in accordance with naval traditions.
