Description
C.1955. PORT SIDE VIEW OF THE FRIGATE HMNZS KANIERE (EX HMS LOCH ACHRAY) (F426). SHE IS ARMED WITH A SINGLE 4 INCH MARK V GUN FORWARD, A QUADRUPLE 2 POUNDER AA MOUNTING AFT, SINGLE 20 M OERLIKON AA GUNS IN THE BRIDGE WINGS AND TWIN OERLIKONS IN RAISED POSITIONS NEAR THE BREAK OF THE FORECASTLE. TWO SQUID ANTI SUBMARINE MORTARS ARE MOUNTED IN B POSITION. A TYPE 277 RADAR FOR HEIGHT FINDING AND SURFACE SEARCH PURPOSES IS MOUNTED ON THE LATTICE FOREMAST WITH A HIGH FREQUENCY DIRECTION FINDING AERIAL ABOVE. (NAVAL HISTORICAL COLLECTION).
